EBSCO Industries is a privately held, widely diversified corporation founded in 1944 by Elton B. Stephens (hence the EBSCO acronym Elton B Stephens COmpany). Previously located in the EBSCO Building at 1230 1st Avenue North, the company's current international headquarters are at 5724 U.S. Highway 280 in unincorporated Shelby County.
