Edward Malcolm Friend Jr (born 1912; died 1995) was a prominent corporate and real estate attorney.

Friend, a veteran of the D-Day landing at Normandy Beach in World War II was a partner in the firm of Sirote, Permutt, Friend, Friedman, Held & Apolinsky. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with the rank of Brigadier General. He also served as president of Temple Emanu-El and the Jewish Federation of Birmingham.

Friend married the former Hermione Curiel and had two children.

In 2009 Friend was inducted into the Alabama Lawyers Hall of Fame.
