Edward Malcolm Friend Jr (born 1912; died 1995) was a prominent corporate and real estate attorney.

Friend, a veteran of the D-Day landing at Normandy Beach in World War II was a partner in the firm of Sirote, Permutt, Friend, Friedman, Held and Apolinsky. He retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with the rank of Brigadier General. He also served as president of Temple Emanu-El and the Jewish Federation of Birmingham.

In 2009 Friend was inducted into the Alabama Lawyers Hall of Fame.
