According to a  Facebook post by Bill Grant his grandfather, also named Bill Grant, a sculptor who migrated from Edinburgh , Scotland. Carved the lions from limestone quarried at East Thomas.

One of the stone lions at Legion Field, Graymont Avenue entrance. According to Nancy Shirley, these were carved in 1927 by her grandfather, William Edward Whalen, who worked for the Reed Brothers Stone Company. [1]

According to a Facebook post by Bill Grant his grandfather, also named Bill Grant, a sculptor who migrated from Edinburgh , Scotland. Carved the lions from limestone quarried at East Thomas.
