FunktionArt is a custom design and fabrication company located at 4814 5th Avenue South in Avonwood. It was founded in 2013 by Shea Scully, Sara Jackson and Remy Hanemann. The company sources salvaged materials and combines them with forged, machined and assembled elements to create functional works of art such as custom doors and furniture. Its "Design Compound" studio was assembled from shipping containers surrounding a courtyard in front of a former service station. The exterior of the compound is clad in salvaged wood boards.

FunktionArt's commissioned projects have included signage for Melt and a doorway and desk for Baker Donelson. The company also deals in salvaged materials and is working on a line of short-run production furnishings.
