Harald J. Herglotz (born c. 1945 in Germany; died July 16, 2012) was a master crystal engraver employed by Bromberg's. He was known for his engraved portraits in crystal and for his designs for trophies and other works commemorating the achievements of the Alabama Crimson Tide football program.
Herglotz grew up in Bohemia, fascinated with the regional art of crystal engraving. He found work as a packaging designer for Westvaco and Gulf States Paper, which brought him to Tuscaloosa. He eventually went to working as a full-time engraver for Bromberg's and remained for 30 years.
Herglotz, who lived in Tuscaloosa, also held a patent for a pinwheel-driven music box. He and his wife, Pamela, had six children: Harold, Hank, Kevin, Sean, Kristin Kenney-Izen and Heath.
Herglotz died in 2012 after a long illness.
