Hill's Foodland is an independently-owned grocery store at 851 Park Road in Pleasant Grove. Opened in May 1972 as Hill's Food Center by J. D. Hill Jr, the store was a former Winn-Dixie Supermarket, a Florida chain which had bought the Birmingham-based Hill's Food Stores chain in the 1960s. After a couple of years in business, Hill was able to purchase the shopping center in which the grocery store sits. Several additions were made. Around 1990, J. D.'s son David began running the store. David's son John David purchased the store in 2004.
