The Icon Restaurant and Bar is a planned white-tablecloth restaurant to be located inside the remodeled Tutwiler Hotel. It will be operated by chef Geoffrey Slate and manager Alan Dobbs, formerly of Restaurant G.
The restaurant was originally scheduled to open for New Year's 2007, but complications arising from existing condistions in the historic building caused delays. During construction, Slate and Dobbs provided catering and room service from the new restauran't kitchen. The completed restaurant began serving meals in its own dining rooms on March 30.
