Inverness Center is an office park on the northern end of the Inverness development on U.S. Highway 280 and Valleydale Road. The office park includes several multi-story office buildings arrayed along Inverness Parkway northwest of Lake Heather and Inverness Center North, encircling a smaller artificial lake accessed along Center Parkway. Inverness Center Drive and Inverness Center Place connect the office park to Valleydale Road.

Development of the complex began in the 1970s. Inverness Center North was added in 1985, and was occupied for more than three decades by Southern Company Services, a subsidiary of Southern Company. In 2010 the Boston, Massachusetts-based CommonWealth REIT purchased the development from TIAA-CREF for $92.5 million.

After Southern Company Services relocated to Colonnade Office Tower North and South in 2017, Harbert Realty Services partnered with the RMR Group of Newton, Massachusetts to redevelop the Inverness Center North complex for multiple tenants, and to possibly construct a fourth building to the west with an associated parking structure. Cooper Carry architects of Atlanta, Georgia were commissioned to design the redevelopment plans.
