The Irving Meisler residence is an 11,000 square-foot residence on a 5-acre lot on Old Leeds Ridge in Mountain Brook. It was constructed in 2003 for Irving Meisler, the co-owner of Rime Construction.
Meisler based the look of the house on a photograph of a Polish residence from a magazine. Atlanta architect William Harrison created the design drawings and construction took three years. The exterior stucco was detailed by a team of craftsmen from Romania. The interior features 11-foot ceilings on the main level and 10-foot ceiling above. The flooring is Brazilian walnut. There are five bedrooms, five full baths and two half baths in the house, as well as a private heated pool, a lighted tennis court, and a 100,000-watt emergency backup generator.
In 2008 Meisler put the house on the market for an asking price of $5.8 million, at the time the highest-priced listing in the area.
