John E. Jones (born November 27, 1932 in Tuscaloosa County - died November 27, 2009 in Columbiana) was an Auburn University-sponsored agent for the Shelby County Extension Office and an employee of the Alabama 4-H Center before he retired.

From 1958 until his death, Jones organized the Shelby County Fair. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Columbiana, the Shelby County Cattlemen's Association, and Columbiana United Methodist Church.

A lifelong Auburn Tigers fan, Jones died shortly after watching the 2009 Iron Bowl on television. He was survived by his wife, Jane, three sons, and seven grandchildren.
