John Henry (CFO)

John Henry is the chief financial officer of Sound Transit in Washington and a former CFO for the Jefferson County Finance Department and the American Public Transportation Association (APTA).
Henry earned his bachelor of science in accounting from Virginia State University in Petersburg, Virginia in 1993 and a master's in business administration from Howard University in Washington D.C. in 1999. He worked for J. P. Morgan Chase & Co. in Dallas, Texas until 2005 and then served as a director for MW Logistics.
Henry was hired by the Office of the Chief Financial Officer for the District of Columbia in March 2008 and promoted to associate treasurer in 2013. He came to Jefferson County in February 2017 as director of finance and was promoted to CFO in June of the same year.
Henry resigned from Jefferson County to accept his current position to join APTA in January 2020. Three years later he was hired to succeed Tracy Butler as CFO of Sound Transit in Washington.
