Kermit A. Johnson Elementary School is located at 8300 Kermit Johnson Road in the Bradford community near Pinson. The school was named for educator Kermit Johnson.
Johnson Elementary serves grades 3-5 and feeds into Pinson Valley High School. All elementary students in the Pinson area go to Pinson Elementary School for kindergarten through 2nd grade, then Johnson Elementary for 3rd through 5th grades. Students then attend Rudd Middle School before entering Pinson Valley High.
In 2007, the school's Jaguar mascot and blue and gold colors were swapped for Pinson Valley High's maroon and gold colors and Indians mascot, to put all four schools in sync.
