The Losel Maitri Tibetan Buddhist Center is a congregation of Buddhists located at 3118 Belwood Drive in Cahaba Heights. Since 2002 it has been headed by Spiritual Director and Resident Teacher Tenzin Deshek, a graduate of the Namgyal Monastery Institute of Buddhist Studies in Dharamshala, India.

Each July the group holds a potluck supper in celebration of the birthday of the 14th Dalai Lama.
