The Marble City Cemetery is a historic cemetery in Sylacauga with approximately 2,520 grave sites.
It was begun as a private graveyard for the family of George W. Pearson, who died in 1876. It was purchased by the city in August 1898 and became the final resting place for many early citizens of the area including eight Sylacauga mayors, a probate judge, a congressman, nine Confederate veterans and one Union veteran from the Civil War. Many of the monuments make use of the area's native marble and were crafted by local sculptors such as C. P. Falconi and David Herd.
In 1924 the Baraca Sunday School Class from First Baptist Church of Sylacauga raised a fund to hire a groundskeeper.
In 1995 the site was added to the Alabama Register of Landmarks and Heritage. In 2009 the cemetery was added to the Alabama Historic Cemetery Register. Members of the Marble City Perpetual Care Committee have also applied for a historic marker from the Alabama Historical Commission.
