Oak Street Baptist Church is located was established in 1916 and built its present building in 1961 at 3224 Virginia Avenue at 32nd Place North in Collegeville.
Because of its role in the Alabama Christian Movement for Human Rights, it was recognized as a "movement church" by the Birmingham Historical Society.
