Plaza Fiesta is a 17,000 square-foot shopping center at Lorna Road and Colonial Drive in Hoover developed by brothers Rafael and Jose Chavez and their cousins Martin and Manuel Ochoa with assistance from Hollis Real Estate. It was designed by Sean Whitt Williams-Blackstock Architects and constructed by Bradford Building Company.

The shopping center, which opened in December 2006, is targeted mainly at the area's Hispanic community. Retailers include a new location for the Chavez' El Mercado grocery store, which will feature a Mexican-style bakery with fresh tamales, meat, fish and imported products, Lavanderia, a laundromat which will have televisions tuned to Latino station, and El Galope', an apparel store which will stock soccer uniforms and baptismal dresses as well as boots and hats, music, books and religious items.

The Iguana Grill will be a full-service Tex-Mex restaurant with numerous "authentic" dishes available. The restaurant's interior was created by Mexican interior designer Martha Figueroa of Adobe Designs and is to be featured in the book Interiores en Mexico published by the International Interior Designers Association.
