Praco (originally Skelton Creek) is a former coal mining community north of Powhatan and the Locust Fork River on Flat Top Road in western Jefferson County.

The name is a shortened form of Pratt Co., for the Pratt Consolidated Coal Co. The town appears on maps in the 1910s. The Praco Post Office was established in 1931.
