The church's pastor is Charles Stapp. The white-clapboard church, built in 1934, is located on a secluded stretch of road between Montevallo and Maylene, making it a target in recent years of thiefs and vandals. The crime spree prompted the Shelby County Sheriff's Department to step up patrols in the area in 2010.
