Spring Park is a public park located in Homewood's Rosedale neighborhood at 2525-1/2 Central Avenue. Its facilities include meeting rooms, pavilions, restrooms, and a playground. Griffin Brook also runs through the park.

History

Homewood began attempting to secure lots for a park in Rosedale in 1958. In particular, the city was trying to obtain the land between Central Avenue and 18th Street South that already had a history of recreational use by local residents. The land was part of an estate, but the city attorney obtained clearance for the city to buy the lots in 1963. After obtaining a $15,000 federal grant to purchase them, the city dedicated the park in spring 1966. Not long after, Rosedale Pool was built in the park. The pool was later closed.
