Stanley Stefansic was minister of the Unitarian Church of Birmingham from 1970 to 1975 and the founder of Common Cause of Alabama, which lobbied for initial passage of Alabama's first comprehensive ethics law.

In 1999 Stefansic was serving as minister of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Tucson, Arizona.
