What exactly constitutes Oxmoor Valley? I thought I knew, but when I started looking at maps (see [http://alabamamaps.ua.edu/historicalmaps/topos/jefferson75min.html 7.5 min Bessemer & B'ham South from 1959], [http://alabamamaps.ua.edu/historicalmaps/topos/jefferson15min.html 15 min Bessemer]), the area I was thinking of appears just to be more of Shades Valley, according to the labels. Oxmoor Valley
What exactly constitutes Oxmoor Valley? I thought I knew, but when I started looking at maps (see 7.5 min Bessemer & B'ham South from 1959, 15 min Bessemer), the area I was thinking of appears just to be more of Shades Valley, according to the labels. So is Oxmoor Valley a real valley -- perhaps where Shades Creek runs between Little Shades Mountain and Shades Mountain -- or is it just a name for the region of Shades Valley around Oxmoor that has historically seen less development? --Lkseitz 06:34, 21 May 2008 (PDT)
