The Uptown Apartments are an apartment complex located at 1517 19th Street North in the Druid Hills neighborhood of the Central City community. It is owned by Hubbard Properties.

The apartment complex has seen more than its share of violence in recent years.

On August 14, 2000 Marvin D. Green and his cousin Taryll Green were murdered, and girlfriend Kuelhquisha Ferguson was critically wounded during an invasion of unit 37 by two armed assailants who spared two young children.

On September 18, 2006, George Irving Amison, Jr was killed when a stray bullet was fired from an assault rifle outside the complex. In the aftermath of that tragic incident, the city cited the complex with multiple health and safety violations resulting in condemning of four units.

On October 30, 2006, Birmingham health and safety workers inspected the complex for the third time noting the owners had made significant improvements to the property. The improvements were sufficient enough to prevent the city from condemning the property and evicting all the current residents.

The apartments were the site of another homicide on June 12, 2007 when an unnamed male was shot and left for dead in the parking lot following an argument inside one of the units.
