William Doric Tynes Jr (born September 11, 1863 in Mississippi; died August 19, 1933 in Birmingham) was the co-founder of the Hardie-Tynes Manufacturing Co.
Tynes partnered with William Hardie, son of Birmingham Iron Works founder John Hardie to establish the Birmingham Engine Works in 1895. The company took its founders' names when it moved to new facilities after a fire in 1903.
Tynes had six children with his first wife, the former Mary Jennie Watts. She died in 1905 and he remarried, to poet Mary Ella Pollard in 1914.
Tynes died in August 1933 and is buried at Elmwood Cemetery.
