The newest and easiest way for college students to get out into the community to find jobs is through the Wyndy App. This app connects college babysitters to parents in and right outside of the city. Created in Birmingham, the app started with students from Samford University and Birmingham-Southern College. It was such a success that the app now has expanded to Tennessee in Chattanooga, Memphis and Nashville, Alabama in Tuscaloosa and Mobile, and most recently to Charlottesville, Va.

This app has had overwhelming success and has been given rave reviews by both babysitters and by parents. Booking last minute babysitters can be difficult for parents, especially during busy seasons. The way the app works has parents post a job onto the Job Board, where Wyndy Babysitters can scroll through to find a time and date that they are available and can request to work that babysitting job.

The app is safe and reliable by requiring background checks for all of the babysitters as well as requiring them to use a college email address to ensure outstanding sitters. Family choose how much they want to pay per hour, and when the sitter shows up, the app times how long the parent is gone, taking the guesswork out of the final payment and parents use the app to pay for their sitter.
