Carlton Peeples

Carlton L. Peeples (born c. 1974) is the Special Agent in Charge of the FBI Birmingham Field Office.

Peeples spent three years in the U.S. Army, serving as a combat engineer at Fort Knox, Kentucky. After his discharge in 1989 he began working as an operations supervisor for UPS in Louisville. In 1996 he completed a bachelor's degree in criminal Justice and law enforcement administration at the University of Louisville. He joined the FBI in 1998 as a special agent and was assigned to the Washington D.C. field office.

Peeples was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent in the Bureau's Civil Rights Unit in 2005, and became chief of that unit two years later before being promoted to Senior Supervisory Special Agent in December 2008, at which time he was stationed to Atlanta, Georgia. In 2016 he was assigned as Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Jacksonville, Florida Field Office. He returned to Washington D.C. in 2018 as a Senior Executive Service Inspector. He was assigned to lead the Birmingham Field Office beginning May 1, 2023.
