Green Carpet Affair

The Green Carpet Affair is an annual party hosted by Randall Woodfin on the Wednesday evening before the Magic City Classic at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Since its beginnings, the event has been produced by Rashada LeRoy's LRY Media Group.

The event began as a public reception marking the occasion of Woodfin's inauguration as Mayor of Birmingham. More than 1,000 people attended the first Green Carpet Affair on November 28, 2017, which was emceed by Rickey Smiley. Positive feedback led Woodfin to turn it into an annual celebration during Classic Week.

Entertainers at the 2022 event, which drew between 3,000 and 3,500 attendees, included DJ Gina Tollese.
