The Homewood Christmas Star is a large, 5-pointed star hung over 18th Street in Homewood each year during the December holiday season.
The star, which is edged with gold tinsel and Christmas lights, is hung at the top of the hill of the Homewood Central Business District, just north of Oxmoor Road. It was first hung in the early 1950s and refurbished by the city's fleet maintenance department in the 1990s.
The star was featured as the 2005 ornament in the Homewood historic Christmas ornament series.
