Chalet Apartments was an apartment complex at 1301 17th Avenue South in the Five Points South neighborhood, on the northern slope of Red Mountain. The three-story building, managed by Red Rock Realty Group, contained 21 one- and two-bedroom units. It was destroyed by fire on May 25, 2015.
The fire broke out around 2:30 p.m. When Birmingham Fire and Rescue units arrived, they found heavy fire and smoke coming from the third story. The steep hill made it difficult to fight the fire. No fatalities were reported.
