James Finch
James Finch (born in Birmingham) is a regional news director for Montgomery-based Raycom Media. He served as news director for WBRC from July 2007 to December 2015.
Finch attended Campbell University in Jacksonville, North Carolina and served as a combat correspondent in the U.S. Marine Corps. He also completed educational programs from the Defense Information School at Fort Meade, Maryland; the Carole Kneeland Project for Responsible Journalism, and the National Association of Broadcasters.
Finch began working at WBRC in the 1990s as a photojournalist and field producer. Prior to being named news director he served as newscast producer, executive producer, and assistant news director. Finch and his wife, Veleka have two children: Alvin and Aiya.
