Roderick Hampton Scott (born November 9, 1960) is a professor of economics at Miles College and a member of the Alabama State House of Representatives, representing District 55 since 2006.

Scott, the son of Percy and Carstella Scott, graduated from Fairfield High School and went on to earn a bachelor's in economics at Yale University and a master's of business administration from Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business.

Scott defeated two-term incumbent Eric Major in the 2002 Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election. He was re-elected in 2006, 2010, 2014 and 2018.

In the 2020 primary, Scott ran for Jefferson County Treasurer. He advanced to a primary runoff with Eyrika Parker, but lost the race.
