Bicycling is the use of a bicycle for recreation or transportation. Birmingham is routinely ranked at the bottom of lists of cities which support cycling. This is an index to articles about bicycle-related history, personalities, facilities, infrastructure and plans in the Birmingham District.

- Bici Cooperative is a community bicycle repair workshop at 1211 28th Street South.
- The Birmingham Bicycle Club sponsors cycling events

- Birmingham Urban Mountain Pedalers (BUMP) works to develop mountain-biking trails in the region.
- The Freshwater Land Trust plans cycling and walking trails as part of its mission to preserve a greenspace network.

- Chief Ladiga Trail between Anniston and Georgia's Silver Comet Trail, 33-mile "rails to trails" route.

- Red Mountain Park, under development, is expected to have 18 miles of recreational bike trails, both paved and unpaved.
