17th Street Southwest is a north-south street running through Birmingham's West End and Southwest communities.

The street appears south of Valley Creek at Madison Avenue Southwest, but merges into 18th Street Southwest after a little more than a block. It splits off again just north of Fulton Avenue Southwest, running southeast across Peason Avenue toward Harrison Park, across Jefferson Avenue and then merges with Alameda Avenue, turning south across Dennison Avenue. The street ends at Grant Avenue Southwest just south of Nabor's Branch.

Another section of 17th Street Southwest appears in Powderly, between Cedar Avenue and Spaulding-Ishkooda Road.
