Al Hochstadter

Al F. Hochstadter was a bottler in Birmingham from 1885 to 1892. Before then he was vice-president of the Goldberg Manufacturing Company and a member of one of the founding families of Temple Emanu-El.

Goldberg was a maker of cider and vinegar and bottler of beer on the corner of 20th Street and Avenue B. Hoschstadter worked there through 1894 before opening his own bottling plant, which operated until 1888.

Hochstadter was a leader in the Iron Mountain Lodge No. 11 of the Ancient Order of United Workmen. His wife was a member of the Hebrew Ladies Benevolent Association.
