Alan Collins (born in Tuscaloosa) is a television news reporter for WBRC 6.
Collins grew up in Tuscaloosa and graduated from the University of Alabama with a bachelor of arts in 1978. He began his career on radio, ending up as a political reporter for the Alabama Radio Network in Montgomery before moving to Birmingham as a newscaster for WBHM-FM.
Collins transitioned to television with WIAT 42, and then moved to WBRC in 1998 as a state political reporter working out of Montgomery. He now works general assignments and covers Jefferson County government.
Collins and his wife Robin currently reside in Birmingham.
