Birmingham Earth Coalition is a Birmingham-based grassroots, community-driven environmental justice coalition.
Nina Morgan initiated a campaign with a vision to organize 30,000 people in the streets for community actions in Birmingham during Earth Month. Through 2019 she expressed this goal to other organizers, which fostered the growth of a coalition of grassroots organizations ready to take local action for climate justice.
The coalition publicly launched on April 1, 2020, and in coordination with the "Southern Spring" of the Southern Movement Assembly, hosted over a dozen events throughout Earth Month 2020 in Birmingham.
