Ernest F. Bush Elementary School is a middle school in the Birmingham City Schools system located at 1112 25th Street Ensley in Ensley. The principal is Vanessa Byrd, who succeeded Ethel Knight in 2008.

Bush Middle School is the successor to the Ensley School which was founded nearby by the city of Ensley in 1901. The present building was built in 1923 adjacent to Ensley High School and was designed by the same architect, David O. Whilldin. Additions to the school were completed in 1928, 1952, 1957 and in the 1990s.

The school is named for Ernest Forrest Bush, the first principal of the Ensley School.

In 2009 plans were made for $7 million in renovations to Councill Elementary, but interim superintendent Barbara Allen suggested joining the student body with that of Bush Middle School in a new K-8 school.
