CapitalSouth Bank is a community bank headquartered on Woodcrest Place in Homewood. The bank is led by W. Dan Puckett who has been chairman since CapitalSouth Bancorp purchased the bank in 1992. It was known as Bank of Alabama until 2005, when it opened a branch in Jacksonville, Florida.
