The City Bakery, owned by J. P. Butterly, was located on 20th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenue North in the 1880s.
In 1881 the bakery offered 20 large loaves of bread for $1; pound cake at 30 cents per pound; sponge cake at 20 cents per pound; rolls at 10 cents per dozen; and rusks for 15 cents.
