Frank Adams Jr

Frank E. Adams, Jr (born 1972 in Birmingham) is president of the A. G. Gaston Boys and Girls Club.

Adams, the son of jazz clarinetist and bandleader Frank Adams, Sr, grew up in western Birmingham and was a member of the A. G. Gaston Boys Club. He attended Woodrow Wilson Elementary School and the Alabama School of Fine Arts, graduating in 1990. He studied clarinet at Boston University, and completed an undergraduate degree in arts management and performance and a master's in fine arts there.

Adams began his career as a planner for the UAB Health System, later moving to Brookwood Medical Center as a governmental relations specialist. In 1999 he was appointed to fill the Birmingham City Council District 8 seat left vacant when Bernard Kincaid was elected Mayor. He campaigned to keep the seat in the 2000 Birmingham City Council special election, but lost to Lee Loder.

Adams joined the staff of Congressman Artur Davis as a health care specialist and was promoted to district director and chief of staff. He continues to work as a health care policy consultant and was appointed director of the Gaston Clubs in 2012.
