The original Gardendale Community Center was built in the 1950s at 323 Fieldstown Road. It was constructed for $30,000 as a community project and later replaced by a new Gardendale Civic Center adjoining Gardendale City Hall at 960 Main Street.

The former Community Center building was later renovated for The Church at Gardendale. After the church relocated to another location in 2019, the building was renovated for the Gardendale location of Andrews Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center and several other small businesses.
