Hugo Marx & Company, founded as Marx & Co. in 1900 by the family of Otto Marx, is an investment banking firm specializing in raising capital for municipal improvements.
The company was one of the original tenants in the Brown Marx Building (1906), but has since moved to 711 29th Street South in Lakeview. The President is V. Hugo Marx III, grandson of the founder. V. Hugo Marx Jr, over 90 years old, continues to work every day. V. Hugo Marx IV is an associate with the firm, and Linda Marx works as the company's receptionist.
