This article is about the avenue in Birmingham's western neighborhoods and Midfield. For the avenue in Bessemer, see Jefferson Avenue Bessemer.

Jefferson Avenue or Jefferson Avenue Southwest is an east-west avenue in Southwest Birmingham and Midfield. It begins by splitting off from Pearson Avenue Southwest at 15th Way Southwest and Harrison Park at the border of the Arlington-West End and West End Manor neighborhoods.

The first section of Jefferson Avenue, west of the former Beverly Station, was paved in the late 1920s by petition of property owners in the newly-opened West End Highlands subdivision.

The section of Jefferson Avenue Southwest west of where it picks up from Dennison Avenue Southwest is part of Jefferson County Road 18
