Joe Knight (born October 27, 1954 in Miami, Florida) is an attorney and nurse anesthetist and the Republican candidate for Jefferson County Commission District 4 in the 2010 general election.

Knight has an associates degree from the Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, a bachelor's degree from UAB, and a law degree from the Birmingham School of Law. He ran unsuccessfully for Alabama State Senate in 1998 and for a circuit judgeship in 2000.

In 2010, Dixon was one of five candidates to qualify in the Republican primary to fill the Jefferson County Commission District 4 seat left open when four-term incumbent and Commission President Bettye Fine Collins decided not to run for re-election. Knight defeated Ronnie Dixon in a runoff to face Roy L. Wood, Jr, who was unopposed in the Democratic primary.
