Donald Joshua Newman (born April 8, 1980 in Clanton, died March 5, 2011 in Thorsby) was a Jemison police officer.
Newman, a graduate of Chilton County High School and veteran of the US Air Force, had been an employee of the Jemison PD since December 2008, first as a reserve officer and then as a full-time officer since April 2010. Newman was killed in a head-on collision with another car while responding to assist with an accident on U. S. Highway 31 north of Jemison in Thorsby.
Newman is survived by his wife Tracy and 4-year-old son Jace.
