The Birmingham Zoo has welcomed a new feline member to its collection of animals. The jaguar is one of the largest cats and there is an estimated 15,000 left in the world. Khan is a three year old male and was born at the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. He will be taking over the old gorilla exhibit in the primate exhibit. Khan enjoys basking in the water in his new home and can be found frequently pacing against the glass barrier between his home and the patrons. Patrons also have the opportunity to learn more about jaguar conservation and what they can do to help the species survive!

Khan (born July 18, 2013 in Jacksonville, Florida) is a male jaguar (Panthera onca) on exhibit at the Birmingham Zoo.

Khan was named for the owner of the Jacksonville Jaguars NFL team, Shahid Kahn. He was brought to Birmingham from the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens in 2017. He is exhibited in the former gorilla enclosure at the zoo's Primate Building. The enclosure was renovated with a water feature for Khan's enjoyment. He was revealed to the public in late March.
