Note that a "homicide" refers to the cause of death as determined by a medical examiner, not to the crime of murder as charged by prosecutors and determined by plea or trial.

- May 31: Vida Nystrom Durham, 28, manager of the Chili's restaurant on State Farm Parkway in Wildwood, was found stabbed to death at the restaurant after police responded to a distress alarm signal at 3:21 AM. Roderick Clancy, a former employee who had been fired by another manager a month prior, was observed leaving the scene and was subsequently taken into custody along with cash from the restaurant and the apparent murder weapon. Clancy and another suspect, James Hayvord Wilson, were both charged with capital murder.
