This is a List of homicides in 1993, including any homicides reported in the area during 1993.

Note that a "homicide" refers to the cause of death as determined by a medical examiner, not to the crime of murder as charged by prosecutors and determined by plea or trial.

  • March 8: George Kevin Pody was reported missing. His remains were found in Marble Valley in 2010 and Michael Wade Nicholson was arrested and charged with murder. (report)

Homewood

  • May 31: Vida Nystrom Durham, 28, manager of the Chili's restaurant on State Farm Parkway in Wildwood, was found stabbed to death at the restaurant after police responded to a distress alarm signal at 3:21 AM. James Hayvord Wilson, a former employee who had been fired by another manager a month prior, was observed fleeing the scene in Mrs. Durham's vehicle. After a brief pursuit Wilson was taken into custody along with cash from the restaurant and the apparent murder weapon. Wilson and another suspect, Roderick Clancy, were both charged with capital murder.

A Jefferson County jury acquitted Roderick Clancy of capital murder in February 1995.

In March 1995 James Wilson accepted a life without parole sentence in exchange for his guilty plea. He is serving his sentence at the William E. Donaldson Correctional Facility.
