Melanie V. Bouyer (born 1975) is the executive director of Bessemer Redevelopment Corporation and a former Mayor of Lipscomb.
Bouyer earned a bachelor's degree in speech pathology and human services from the University of Montevallo in 1997 and later completed a bachelor of arts in communication management from UAB, a master's of business administration at Strayer University, and a juris doctorate from Miles Law School. She worked as program director for the Bridge Builders Foundation.
In 2007, Bouyer was named to the Lipscomb City Council, but had to resign due to residency issues. She received 203 of 355 votes cast in the 2008 mayoral election, but lost the 2008 mayoral election to Lance McDade. She was a member of the 2010 Leadership Birmingham class. She joined the Bessemer Redevelopment Corporation as executive director in January 2022.
Bouyer has served on the junior board for the Alabama Kidney Foundation and on the "Community Connectors" Advisory Board for Prosper. She also served on the Bessemer Historic Preservation Commission and on the selection committee for the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
