Palisades Drive is a 1/2-mile, two- and three-lane road running from Oxmoor Road to Valley Avenue beside the Palisades Shopping Center in southern Birmingham. The road follows a winding route over a ridge and around the east end of the shopping center.
Palisades Drive was built at the same time as the shopping center in the late 1980s. Once completed, Oxmoor Road was rerouted directly on to Palisades Drive. To continue on to Oxmoor, west-bound must take the tunnel that leads from north-bound Palisades Drive to west-bound Palisades Boulevard, which then becomes Oxmoor again.
